Sweater Weather

While my friends in Louisiana say they still have their air conditioning on, it is definitely cool enough to wear a sweater every day here in Wisconsin. Aside from shawls, sweaters are my favorite things to design, and my latest sweater pattern is the Linden Street Pullover in the Fall/Winter issue of knit.wear magazine.

The body of the sweater is worked with two strands of Shibui Pebble held together. This silk and wool blend yarn has a rustic tweedy appearance, but it is so much softer than it looks! The lace weight ruffle at the bottom of the sweater is worked in Merino/Alpaca Shibui Cima. My favorite feature of this pullover is the lace detail at the raglan lines. I think it looks like a little chain.

Jean’s Jacket is another sweater I designed with lace details and I’m looking for test knitters now. The test will be held in my Ravelry group. If you’re not already a member please stop by! I’ll be publishing this one myself when the test knit is finished, so you can sign up for my mailing list to receive an email when the pattern is released,

I am also knitting a new Keeley Sweater and I’m using one of my favorite yarns; madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light. The photo below shows the front and back just before the gusset stitches are cast on. The rest of the sweater is worked in the round, with the lower sleeves and body in stockinette. Perfect for knitting and reading, my favorite things to do as the weather grows colder.

The Keeley Sweater

Originally published in Interweave Knits, the pattern will be available in my Ravelry store after I’ve finished the new sample and updated the pattern.

So you see, it’s sweater knitting weather here! What are you working on?
