The Spring issue of Interweave Knits was released this week and I have a design in it! The Bristol Raglan is a pullover worked from the top-down with cabled raglan seams and a high-low split hemline. The striped body includes waist shaping and a pair of purl stitches on each side, which hide the jog created by working stripes in the round and mimic side seams.
My design is in the Ship to Shore story, which features several other nautically inspired designs, like the Narragansett Gansey. I love the Trinity Stitch sleeves and the hard-wearing white wool used in this sweater, but I am truly tempted to cast on the Charlestown Pullover. The complicated stitch patterns used in this design would be an exciting challenge to knit.
There are some gorgeous designs in the magazine’s other design story, The Last Safari. The Pfeiffer Shawl is a pretty crescent-shaped shawl with a deep lace border and the Blixen Tunic is a unique sweater with interesting details. My favorite has to be the Elephant Vest. The colorwork is perfectly executed, and the elephants are so cute!
You can find a print copy of Interweave Knits at your local yarn store or bookstore, or you can purchase the digital edition right here.
Thank you for knitting!
