Windward is a new collection from Knit Picks featuring 16 cabled patterns for pullovers, cardigans, scarves, and hats in classic and affordable Knit Picks yarns. My design is the Diamond Lattice Pullover, a seamless cabled sweater worked from the bottom up with raglan shoulder shaping.
I finished the prototype for my design in May, and it became my new favorite sweater! The cables add just the right amount of texture to the reverse stockinette body of the sweater, and the round neck and folded neck band are both comfortable and warm. Wool of the Andes is surprisingly soft for a basic 100% wool yarn,
One of my favorite features of this sweater is the Argyll cable that travels up each sleeve and frames the Lattice pattern on both the front and the back of the sweater. I love the traditional Argyll motif, but it can be complicated to work in intarsia. Translated into cables it becomes a textural pattern which is easy and fun to work.
I’d love to see your versions of this sweater! Thank you for knitting!
